Our booking system is seamless and once you book yourself in, you will receive an email confirmation of your booking, as well as a reminder email the day before your appointment (for initial appointments only). By default you will also receive an SMS reminder about 24 hours prior to any appointment. Please aim to arrive 5mins prior to your appointment.
If you are unable to attend an appointment, please aim to give us at least 24 hours notice to avoid a cancellation fee. You can read about our cancellation and no show policy here
We are easily accessible in Hawthorn, situated directly inside Visions Fitness Centre (big white, black, and red building) on the corner of Burwood Rd and Tweed St, Hawthorn.
We are easily accessible by car from Camberwell, Malvern, or Richmond way. Or, if travelling on the Monash freeway via Yarra Boulevard or, Burke Rd exits.
There is parking on Burwood Rd, however, please note that the gym side of the road (north side) becomes a clearway from 4.30-6.30pm. We recommend parking on Tweed St or behind on Lynch St, where you'll find ample 'free' timed-parking bays.
If travelling by train or tram, we are a short 5-10min walk from Glenferrie Station (Belgrave/Lilydale lines), or 5minute walk from Hawthorn Station (Belgrave/Lilydale/Alamein/Blackburn lines).
You will receive all the access information you need in your appointment confirmation. However, on the day of your appointment, when you arrive, please come up in through the main gym entrance up the stairs. If someone is at the gym reception, please let them know you are here to see the Physio. Then, kindly make your way down through the gym. The clinic is located in the lower right-hand corner of the gym down a few stairs (north-east corner). Kindly take a seat when you arrive and we'll be with you shortly.
Visions Gym is split over levels with a couple of sets of stairs. Please let us know ahead of your appointment if you have mobility issues requiring alternate access, and/or difficulty navigating stairs. We'll be happy to arrange this (email us at admin@technologicphysio.com.au or, leave a note at the time of booking).
As a standard reminder for all of our appointments, in order to properly and accurately assess and treat you, we need access to their area we're treating. We do our utmost to accommodate patients. We recommend bringing either a pair of shorts (if we're looking at something lower body), or a having a singlet/crop top ready (if we're treating something upper body).
If you have copies of any letters from a referring health professional and/or previous scan reports/findings, we kindly request you email these through ahead of your appointment (admin@technologicphysio.com.au; using a clear subject line) - if you aren't able to send these, you are free to bring them with you on the day for us to scan into your medical record.
If you have private health insurance with extras for Physio and would like to claim on the spot with HICAPS, please bring your membership card.
Referrals ARE NOT required for appointments with a Physiotherapist. However, if you have seen a doctor or another health professional for example, about your issue and would like to bring along a friendly letter with some information about your injury/condition, this would be very welcome.
Absolutely, please do. In fact, email is our preferred method of communication. Please include your name and best contact details in the subject line of any emails so we know how best to reply to your enquiry. If you need to make, change or cancel an appointment, you may actually do this via the link in your booking confirmation email. However, for any general enquiries, feel free to email us at admin@technologicphysio.com.au. Please be assured that our email is closely monitored. In general, we will reply to all emails within 24hrs of their receipt. However, if your query is more urgent or specialised, if you prefer, you may also call us on +61 0438 109 061.
We do our best to handle your queries with as much help us possible. However, please note that queries that are more medical in nature will be directed to make an appointment so we can assess and treat any presentation thoroughly and accurately.
Our fee schedule is set on the basis of factors such as: the nature of the consultation, the time it takes for your consultation based on the type of condition and treatment required, and the type of service being booked. If you are unable to attend an appointment or class, please aim to give us at least 24 hours notice to avoid a cancellation fee as per our cancellation/no show policy.
Please note that we are NOT currently accepting WorkSafe or TAC claims.
We DO accept Medicare Enhanced Primary Care (EPC)* scheme referrals from your GP. This entitles you to up to x5 medicare subsidised visits to a referring allied health professional (including physio) from your GP per calendar year.
*The Enhanced Primary Care scheme is a referral system that allows patients to see health professionals, whereby a part of the fee is subsidised by the Australian Government. However, please note, this is usually reserved for patients with chronic conditions. For more information and eligibility, please speak to your GP.
Please note: As a private practice, we don't bulk bill. The gap payment of our usual service fee is payable at the time of appointment.
Absolutely. We are supported with on the spot claiming via HICAPS. If you have private health insurance with extras for physiotherapy, you should be able to claim.
We recommend checking your level of cover with you private health insurer prior to attending.
Payment in full is required at the time of consultation, otherwise, an account keeping fee will be added to any unpaid invoice.
We don't accept cash (we are a cashless business). We accept EFTPOS and credit cards (Visa and MasterCard). We are unfortunately unable to accept American Express or Diners Club cards.
If you have private health insurance with extras for physio but are not able to claim a rebate on the day, full payment will need to be made by credit card or EFTPOS (we are a cashless business). However, we will gladly provide you with a copy of your invoice that contains all the information you need to submit to your private health insurer to claim manually.
Yes, we stock a variety of tapes, exercise bands, compression bandage, heel raises, and massage balls for you to purchase. We are also able to procure various braces, heat and ice packs, and other supportive aids on request. Feel free to enquire. We can order most items in for you, given reasonable timeframes.
